I have many great memories of childhood visits ‘down South’ to visit Uncle John, Auntie Hazel & my cousins during school summer holidays and also of them coming ‘up North’ to visit us. A firm favourite place to visit back then was Carnforth Steamtown. John always had the video camera out, capturing us all & his love of the steam trains!
It was lovely to see John last summer at a family get together & so glad we got chance to spend time together with our families.
You’ll be greatly missed Uncle John x

Have been looking for family photos with John in, then realised he was mostly behind the camera! Consequently, we have many wonderful videos, of the children when they were young, for which I am so grateful. I have one here, taken at Athelhampton, just three yeas ago. John was a force, always with a twinkle in his eye, (and some what old fashioned humour!), but never with malice. He was a very kind man.

Dearest John,
Our deepest condolences to all the family.
We are still so grateful to have found this arm of the family through our genealogy. From Charlotte's visit to Mom and Dad's house here in New Westminster, BC, Canada, to our visit with you in 2016 (and Mom's visits in between).
All our love from your cousins in Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️
